Players: 1-4

Age: 8+

Game Time: 15-30 minutes

Game Objective: "Be the first player to discard all the cards in your hand."

Board Game Contains:

- Electronic Yahtzee Turbo game unit and storage base

- 5 multi-coloured dice

- Deck of 48 cards

- Rules and Instructions

Game Summary:

In Yahtzee Turbo, players first turn a card over and begin rolling the dice like crazy trying to match the pattern on the card. The speed detecting die adjusts to your speed! This game is a race to discard all of your cards. Each player gets dealt 5 colour cards as seen in the picture above. The players are welcome to rearrange the 5 cards in any order they want. The idea is for players to begin their turn by tapping the Electronic Turbo and roll the dice before the music stops. If you get all the dice colours you need to match your first colour card, tap the Electronice Turbo to stop and it will either let you move on to the next card or let you discard a game. The Electronic Turbo is a lot like "Simon says." If you beat the music, you get rewarded, if you're too slow you get penalized (drawing more cards or other players give you a card). The first player to get rid of their 5 cards wins the game!

Game Review:

If you're already a big fan of Yahtzee, you'll definitely love this game. I love a good die rolling game. I mean who doesn't? The original Yahtzee does require a bit of strategy. You have to figure out which category you want to cross off in order to keep going. It's focused more on analyzing odds as you try to roll the different combinations. There is definitely a risk/reward decisions as you debate whether to take the safe option or risk it for some points. With Yahtzee Turbo, none of that matters. This is a game of speed and luck! Two things I'm usually really good at!

I recommend this game as a 2-4 player game because even though you can play by yourself as the Electronic Turbo just prompts you what to do, it's so much more fun to have an audience "cheering" and "booing" the game. My favourite part about Yahtzee Turbo is seeing people try to roll as fast as they can that dice just roll off the table. Sometimes the dog just gets it in the face, there's nothing you can do about it! You have to make sure that you don't roll the dice too far so that you're quickly able to see if the right colour dice match the card in your hand and so you're able to quickly collect your dice for a possible reroll. It's so entertaining watching my boyfriend's mom play this game, because it doesn't even matter who's turn it is, she is more panicked than you are.

I really enjoy this game because it's perfect for family gatherings or drinking parties. You can modify it so that if the clock beats you, you take a shot and in the end everybody still wins. In family gatherings, you don't even have to persuade your family to play. You just turn on the Turbo and it does the trick. It's almost like a magnet, place it in the center of the table and it just starts pulling people in.
